The 27 Nakshatras

Discover Your Birth Star: The Vedic Map of Who You Are

Capt Anirvan Chakravarti

By Capt Anirvan Chakravarti (Captain Anirvan Chakravarti), Vedic astrology researcher.

Long before the world counted twelve zodiac signs, Vedic astrologers read the sky by 27 stars. At the moment you were born, the Moon stood in one of them.

• Know yourself. The nature, gifts and blind spots of your birth star.
• Know the people you love. Look up a partner, a child or a friend.
• Know your timing. When to begin, and when to wait.

Read it in order and you finish with a working knowledge of all 27 nakshatras: symbols, deities, planetary lords, padas, compatibility, dashas and muhurta. Or just begin with yours.
